Boo!
How are we all? I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I was glued to the TV all weekend watching Wimbledon! Anyway this week I have another Restaurant Review, and this time I tried something French: Le Pont de la Tour Bar & Grill. Luckily J and I managed to catch the 3 course & a cocktail for £20 pp offer, which is an incredible price! Unfortunately they no longer run this offer but there are a couple of other offers available on Bookatable/Open Table if you wanted to give this restaurant a try!
Le Pont de la Tour is a D&D restaurant, which stands for Des Gunewardena and MD David Loewi who led the buyout of Conran Restaurants in September 2006. As I have mentioned in most of my other Restaurant Reviews, my dining experience isn't just about the food, it is about the atmosphere and the decor. As this restaurant is situated along the River Thames, the atmosphere and view is gorgeous, thus making it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner! J and I took this opportunity to enjoy a lovely meal whilst watching the sun set! As for the decor, I really love how Le Pont de la Tour included little snippets of France, such as the addition of this bicycle and wooden plaque.

GRILLED ASPARAGUS |
For the main course, J and I both had the plaice. I had never tried it before so thought it would be good to try something different. This wasn't actually too bad, but I made a bad mistake in cutting it instead of gently scraping the meat off the bone. By cutting it, I ended up getting a mouthful of bones...So this probably tasted amazing, but I spent too much time trying to sort the meat from the bones. However, I must say that the sauce did taste great and I did like the grilled after taste as well.

PINEAPPLE CHEESECAKE |
Finally, for dessert we both had the pineapple cheesecake. Pineapple is not one of my favourite fruits but I really fancied cheesecake so thought I would give this a go. This actually ended up tasting incredible! The cheesecake wasn't too heavy, which is what I prefer, and the pineapple was really refreshing. So overall it was a delicious dessert!
If you wanted somewhere quiet and beautiful to enjoy lunch or dinner, this really would be the perfect place. We watched the sun set and it really was so lovely. However, despite the location, if in the future there wasn't a similar offer to the one we tried, I'm not sure whether I would really give this restaurant a try again. Just because I wasn't hugely impressed with the food overall. But then again, maybe, if I had ordered something else I would have had a completely different view? Overall, I'm glad I had this dining experience but I wouldn't say it is a place I will be rushing back to any time soon.
